Below you'll find some of our favourite things to see and do in the area, whether you're visiting as a family, a group of friends or a couple. Doncaster racecourse
Just a mile from us is one of the best racecourses in the country, home to the world-famous William Hill St Leger Festival every September. With regular meetings throughout the year, plus live music and children's activities, it's a great day out.
Conisbrough Castle
On the outskirts of Doncaster is the romantic Conisbrough Castle. Explore the well-preserved keep, discover the 12th century world of the owners, Lord and Lady de Warenne, and climb to the roof for stunning views of the area.
Cusworth Hall
Built in the 18th century, Cusworth Hall is a beautiful Grade I listed building set in acres of parkland with walking trails and play areas. The house itself is now a museum revealing the daily lives of the town's inhabitants from the 18th century to the present day.
Yorkshire Wildlife Park
Just outside Doncaster is the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, home to the only polar bears in England. Get up close and personal with nearly 400 magnificent animals including tigers, lemurs, monkeys and critically endangered black rhinos.
Doncaster market
With over 400 shops and stalls, selling everything from fish to flowers, Doncaster Market is a must visit. The indoor and outdoor markets are open on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, while on Wednesdays there is an antiques and bric-a-brac market.
Doncaster Dome
Doncaster is home to the region's premier sports, leisure and entertainment destination, The Dome. From a split-level ice rink to an indoor water park, there are more that 50 activities taking place under one roof as well as regular concerts and events.
